MY EGO MIND HELPED TO CREATE MY ILLNESS

As it suggests to me on a regular basis that in order to be a good and useful person I have to be busy. I have to be doing something active all of the time. If I sit around being inactive then I am not a good person and I will fail in my attempts to achieve. This struggle is still one that I face every day, and one that I have to be consciously aware of.

Being given the illness of M.E/CFS was a wakeup call to the fact that we all need to rest sometimes. It doesn't make us a lazy person, it makes us human. The ego mind can be a loud one, but if you can listen to your ego mind and reason with it in the same way that you would a friend it can still be a part of your life, but it can take a back seat when you need it to. Every challenge that we face in life is given to us a lesson to learn from, to grow from. I am still learning from my lesson of being given this illness, but ultimately I know that it was given to me so that I could understand better my physical and mental limits, and for that I am grateful.
